So, I'm currently working on starting up a Star Wars Books Podcast for either
a) Youtube
b) iTunes, or
c) both.

So, I decided to create a thumbnail of many book covers. This will be the video overlay thing for Youtube as well as the thumbnail (most likely), and the thumbnail if there is one for iTunes.

Here it is:

Note: It's a lot bigger if you click on the image.

Will it be covering the new canon also or just the old canon?

^Definitely both! As I plan on reading a lot of stuff from the old canon before I get to the new, it will probably cover mostly old canon to start out, then mix with some of the new canon as well.

I'll give it a listen when it comes out. I won't be able to follow the new canon, but I always enjoy discussions on the older books. Smile

Good to know. Perhaps, if you're interested, then you could join me for an episode or two.

So, I read on the first page of a book (Podcasting for Dummies) that the iTunes thumbnail should be 600x600. I'm going to begin work on that (maybe) tomorrow.

I also might not do it tomorrow, because there is a large possibility that I will be spending the majority of the day with my friend who's moving back to California next week.

FYI: might as well do both YouTube and iTunes. The more outlets the better. YouTube would be easier. I'm not sure if you can do direct uploads to iTunes, and I'm not sure you can link YouTube to iTunes. But if you use another site for hosting the podcasts, they usually offer easy ways to link to iTunes. There's some free options out there, but most have some big drawbacks that make them not good for long term use (unless you want to pay).

But yeah, be sure to throw in a link when your episodes go up. I do the Podcasts in Review of Roqoo Depot so I can give it a listen.

This sounds pretty good. But do yourself a favour and try to include some graphic novels, eh? Some are objectively great, while others also tell important stories in the universe (like Dark Empire, and Tales of the Jedi).

But I will definitely listen to this.

I'm not sure how uploading a podcast to iTunes works, but I've seen some podcasts that do both, to reach that wider audience. Though I'm not a huge fan of Youtube podcasts myself unless they also have a visual component (like that one episode of Hello Internet where they were showing artifacts from the Royal Society).

Yeah, I think that the lack of comics was mainly in the thumbnail. I was just going from the list of books that I have that I plan on reading within the next little bit. There will definitely be some comics strewn about in there.

Cool. I'll be honest, I can't see the thumbnail (the computer I'm on doesn't like showing images on forums very well), so my comment wasn't directed at that. More just the title "books" and making sure it was inclusive. Cause comics are fun, and in particular Star Wars ones Smile
