Mara Jade Catsuit: Fanservice run amok?

Maybe a bit of a compromise? I can't see Mara in a Jedi robe, whatever her age, and despite the fact that she often wore it in the books. That just seems to be as un-Mara as anything. But, yeah, 57 year old Mara in a catsuit is not good either - so I would like to see her perhaps in combat dress.

As for characters wearing the same old, same old, I'm reminded of one line (I think in the NJO) which said Han was wearing the same outfit as the one in ANH, and that he must have a wardrobe filled with dozens of the same clothes Laughing

. It gets a little annoying, but at the same time, this is probably what I'm going to imagine him in, unless stated otherwise in the book.

Broadening the subject here a little, I think what we need is a larger wardrobe for post-ROTJ Jedi. Whether it's toys or book images, it's hard for artists to depict these characters when all they have to go by (for the most part) is the films and the stereotypical robes the Jedi wear.

Face it, the Jedi robes are not very appealing. In the prequels, when Obi-Wan and Anakin are in combat, they ditch their cumbersome robes and fight in more normal looking clothes. I think that's what we need to see more of in post-ROTJ Jedi: Jedi clothes without the bulky robes. It they made the conscious effort to make some or push for them, I think it would make it easier for the artists to deliver better looking characters on the covers and such.
