This is your chance to support Star Wars, the Expanded Universe, and help provide literacy resources to children in one swift stroke.
Many of our readers are frequent users of Twitter, and anyone who follows @EUCantina will recognize the #SWEU hashtag at once. The acronym for the Star Wars Expanded Universe is slowly replacing the simple use of “EU” in many places on the web. To allow fans to show their support for the Expanded Universe on Twitter (and the SWEU in general), we’ve created a new t-shirt design, primarily with the hope that fans will buy the shirt and wear it at Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, Florida this August. Wearing the shirt is a great way to grow interest in the EU on Twitter and on the Internet in general.
Because these shirts (and various other items) are being sold through Cafepress, EUCantina receives a small portion of the profit from sales. For every product sold, we receive $3.
This is where it gets exciting. EUCantina will donate all of the money we make from sales to Reading is Fundamental (RIF), the largest children’s literacy nonprofit in the United States. RIF provides new books and other literacy resources to children and families in need. You can help RIF, as they provide children with over 15 million new books each year.
