NBC is handling the games in an almost embarrassing manner. Delaying the games isn't all horrible, but I believe most people who care are upset about it. Not to mention they spoil their own airings of the games! Also, their internet stream, which is live, buffers at the worst moments. The fact that they won the contract to air the games is...disappointing.

In the news tonight: if the county of Yorskhire, where I live, was registered as a state, we'd be tenth on the medal table: 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. That puts this one English county higher on the table than Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada. It's the same number of golds as Canada and Australia combined.

Awesome stuff !

I think we should just make Usain Bolt wear a Flash costume and be done with it.

I've been watching some of the paralympics - cycling and swimming mostly. Channel Four are doing good coverage of it, and the BBC are being generous in their coverage on the news and in the Radion Times.
Apparently, although the USA have a strong team, NBC only plan to show five hours of highlights - in total. It gives the impression that they regard disabled sport as distinctly second class - very much an afterthought. Admittedly it doesn't get much TV time in the UK outside of major events like the Paralympics, but it's been good to see the general public getting behind the Para games, and packing the stadiums to cheer on the athletes.
