Which four SWEU characters (created for the Expanded Universe, not in films) would make your Mount Rushmore of Star Wars?

I went with Thrawn, Mara, Corran, and Vos.

If you're on Twitter, you can let @EUCantina know your opinion on the four and your tweets will be used in an article soon.

Mara Jade, Corran Horn, Tycho Celchu, Thrawn

Mara Jade: Obvious reasons. Strong female leads are cool!

Corran Horn: First character that wasn't from the films to have a book entirely about them. Signaled one of the first efforts to really build the grandeur of the EU

Thrawn: Who needs the Force to be menacing? Probably the best written antagonist in the entire EU

Tycho: If I could, I would have put Wedge here. But I can't, so Tycho is a suitable stand-in for the everyman, non-Jedi who proves that it's not just the Jedi who are Big Damn Heroes in the GFFA.

Jacen, the protagonist of the New Jedi Order, Ahsoka, the protagonist of the Clone Wars, Mara Jade, probably the closest EU character to the Big 3, and, I don't know, Starkiller. He's been mentioned in a non-Star Wars movie so he's penetrated pop culture more than probably any other EU character that I can think of. I don't know any other EU character that's been mentioned on a TV show or movie.

I'm not sure what criteria we're supposed to be going by, whether personal preference, popularity, or effect on the SW narrative. I went by a mixture of all three.

Mara Jade, Thrawn, Anakin Solo, and Ben Skywalker for me.

Mara Jade Skywalker, Anakin Solo, Prince Xizor, and Grand Admiral Thrawn.

However, for all Luke Skywalker has done post films, he should really be allowed but that's fine.

Also, if such a monument was to be built in the Star Wars universe, the Senator proposing such legislation should be included Laughing

Revan, Darth Bane, Thrawn and Corran Horn. Out of those four, only Revan and Corran are personal favourites, and the others are ones that have contributed more in terms of structure.

The others I thought about were: Starkiller, for much the same reasoning as Crash provided, but he hasn't impacted the EU very much. Daala; say what you will (and feel free to bash her in any fanfics you write), she has had a large impact on the EU. Unfortunately. Anakin Solo; I think his death is perhaps the most shocking to the EU. I'd like to say Ben Skywalker, too, but his eminence is only imminent. And Cade, well, I couldn't pick him over Corran, much as I wanted to.

I'm revising my Rushmore, in retrospect I'd choose Zorba the Hutt, Paploo the Ewok, TK-119, and Waru.

Well what's the definition of Expanded Universe? Paploo was in the animated Ewoks show, the Marvel Ewoks comics, and Star Wars Tales 22. TK-119...well, yeah, he was just in the movie. Very Happy
