Still really hoping this hits sometime in 2013. The Old Republic is nice, and that Clone Wars MMO is alright, but I've been hoping for something fresh for a bit now. Lucasarts didn't even have a major release this year!

First Assault may be cancelled, LucasArts may be for the chop.

shame about the possibility that LA will close shop.

That being said it's been a while since I was impressed by LA's quality control post release of a game. For all that EA does wrong I must admit I feel EA has done a better job at patching and doing maintence on their games post release than LA. LA's games aren't bad but I must take issue with that article's comment on "quality" which IMHO applies to both the development of the game and patching bugs after release. My impression is they do 1-2 patches before abandoning the game regardless of whether there are bugs still in need of fixing to move on to the next shiny title in the franchise.

All in all while it might mean that we no longer have Star Wars games if they want to keep LA in business they need to improve their quality control and stop with the quantity flash in the pan style of make a game, release the game, move on to the next game ASAP.
