I heard a lot about FOTJ. Apparently it's mainly about Luke and his son right? And what happens between NJO and FOTJ that's so bad I shouldn't read about, huh? Confused

Well, I'll just say it was a good idea with bad execution...really, really bad execution. Just read Wookie or the ERC. Than read FOTJ which is actually decent to good. Despite what some people say. Very Happy

I think you should read the Dark Nest Trilogy and LOTF (which are between NJO and FOTJ). I enjoyed it - the only real problem I had was with all the Mandalorian scenes - skip those and the series reads much more smoothly.

I liked Dark Nest fine; it was LOTF that really was disheartening and not just because of the Mando scenes. For me it was the horrible mis-characterizations across the board. The one good thing coming out of LOTF is Ben's growth.

Although I agree that if you absolutely have to read LOTF, skip the Mando scenes. The books actually flow much better without them.

I...I didn't know there were other people besides me. I enjoyed DN overall more than LotF. I did a re-read not long ago and as much as I'm not really fond of either I do prefer the trilogy to the long-form abortion of a series that was LotF.

Bwahahahahaha. I love your definition of LOTF. But yes, I liked DNT and I just don't think it deserves the bad rap it gets. People are bugists; that's the problem. Very Happy

Haha don't get me wrong, I wasn't a big fan, but LotF completely destroyed so many characters. And I kinda liked the bugs actually Very Happy

I take my imaginary hat off to anyone with more than ten. The names are so blasted hard to remember and spell.
