Since we had the UEFA 2012 thread, I'm making this one.

Here you can discuss anything related with the world cup (favorites, grups, teams, players,.....)

Today is the opening game: Brazil vs Croatia

Going to be a nice, watchable game I think.

I'm looking farward to the group B game tomorrow.
It's Hogy vs Reepicheep Razz

^ Oh, Spain is going down! After what happened in the last Cup, I'm hungry for revenge. Evil or Very Mad

I don't know if I'll be watching it since the ESPN Xbox app now requires that you have a cable subscription, which it didn't used to.

I'm hoping to stream a handful of matches. I'm for England, but for no other reason than the fact that my father is from there and so it's where my roots come from (never mind that my father hates England and is happy his parents chose to emigrate and roots for any other team).

So yes, England, but without any knowledge of their statistics or players or anything.

Well I'm posting this via phone, so I'll be brief and plain: Congrats Reep on destroying us.

Best. Game. EVER! Very Happy

That was completely unexpected and I'm on top of the world! I was feeling bad about the team arrangements, because Holland will be facing Brazil sooner rather than later, but now I say BRING IT ON!!!

The best part:

England lost against Azzuri.
Ivory coast won Japan.
Columbians sniffed all the lines, while we are missing Jamaika (somebody needs to smoke the grass). JOKEING.

So in 2010 this was the official song for the cup:

This was the true song of the cup:

In 2014 this is the official song:

What is the true song of the 2014 cup?

I'm going with Shakira on this one:

Well some good games since the last post.

The USA/Ghana game seemed to be a good one, but I didn't watch it so I can't comment.
Didn't watch S. Korea/Russia either.

Belgium vs. Algeria was not that watchable, but an ok game nonetheless.

IMO Brazil/Mexico was the best. Draw, but a good game nonetheless. I like draws. They complicate things. Something the Yanks don't understand. Laughing

Holland/Australia was a good game. I feel bad for Australia, since they dropped out. They showed a good spirit. Unlike my team, the defending champions Spain. They are out too. Facepalm. Terrible performance. Why use Tiki-Taka if you can't even make a successful pass 50% of the time? I support them from my youth and support them still. I hate fans who can't support their clubs when they're down. Spain, Argentina, Brazil, England, Italy and others are full off fans like that.

Congrats Reep! Netherlands made it out of the group.

Croatia killed Cameroon, so Cameroon is out too.
Group A is gonna be interesting.........

I'm generally watching a game a day for the group stage. I just pick whichever match looks the most interesting to me.

I did see the Brazil/Mexico match and, I agree, the lack of scoring didn't keep it from being a good game. I was sad that England lost to Italy though. The Netherlands/Australia match was really exciting, even if I don't think it should have been that close. Robin Van Persie will be out for the next game though. Sad

I'm surprised Spain is out so early and I'm sorry for you, Hogy.

^Thanks Reep.

I forgot about the Germany 4 : Portugal 0 game!
So one sided game. Portugal didn't just loose the game. They've lost 2 players due to injury+ probablly their captain C. Ronaldo (current FIFA Ballon D'or - FIFA World Player of the Year). And a red card from Pepe a.k.a the beast/animal/serial killer.

I hope it won't come down to this. "Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win." - Gary Lineker
