Wow Anakin whooped her A huh?! Had the classic Vader hack and then the coolest force grab/choke ever seen on screen! Great use of Ventress being the one to drop Anakin the bitter pill that him threw the council had failed her too. This episode really makes ROTS/ the fall of Anakin even more of a tragedy.

I can't say I'm happy it was Barriss who was the traitor. I liked, in a way, that she was killed at Lumiara's side at Order 66.

Maybe Snips survives Order 66, but then Darth Vader would have to hunt her down....

Season 6 could be very interesting with the fates of Ahsoka, Barriss and Ventress up in the air

I was hoping, in a way, that they'd be too late and that Ahsoka would be found guilty and executed, but I much prefer this. So much more powerful. The music really helped with the scene, too. Perfectly scored.

I think this'll be my screensaver for a while ....

The positive: I think the way it turned out was a huge payoff. Not so much that Barriss was the traitor, or even Ahsoka leaving the Order, but by how much all of this hurts the Jedi Order and makes the Jedi Council look incompetent. Not only does this bridge the gap between the show and ROTS, but it actually makes the events in ROTS make more sense. No wonder people were so quick to turn their backs on the Jedi and the Jedi Council. To the public, the Jedi Council must have looked like a bunch of fools. They couldn't detect a traitor, they couldn't detect an innocent, they showed no faith in their members, and they couldn't even keep a member from leaving.

The negatives are really minor: first and foremost - Tim Curry's voice as Palpatine. It's going to take me a while to get used to this. Ian Ambercrombe was really perfect. My other grip is the canon snafu that is now Barriss Offee. Does TCW have it in for Michael Reaves? His Medstar duology is kind of trashed now.

Overall, I liked the episode, and I'm certainly not going to hold it against them that they trashed some canon. It'll be interesting to see who they do Ahsoka episodes in season six now that she isn't a Jedi. Will she be teaming up with Ventress as a bounty hunter? Will they introduce new characters for her to work with? What kind of adventures will she have?

And how will Anakin act now that the Jedi Council has driven his padawan away from the Order? Does the Order even have any credibility left?

I still hope that they can somehow redeem Barriss or make something up, like she was brainwashed (again ), or even that she's on a secret Quinlan Vos style mission gone wrong, or whatever, so she can fall victim to the order 66 like she originaly did.

The reveal with Barriss was unsurprising, but it is nice to see the general shift towards ROTS.
The appearance of the younglings from that earlier arc was a nice touch.
The final shot/fade into credits was beautiful.

Well this was interesting. I'm honestly super happy that this show seems to be building towards a close and away from the more childish aspects of it. It seems that it has finally picked a stylistic direction (5 years in...) and we can now work to RotS and perhaps have, in the end, a fantastic overarching story with Ashoka. I like that she left and they pushed towards Anakin's fall, but I don't think she's done yet. I think we have plenty more from Ashoka. Its Bariss's betrayal that bothers me, that just seemed insanely out of nowhere for her character (then again I'm thinking overall character, not just the show). so I don't know how to feel about this.

This certainly shows why Anakin doesn't care much for the Council by ROTS.

I am curious where they're going to take the story from here, I really like the possibilities.

First of all, I have absolutely zero gripes about the continuity. Easy to argue that the MedStar books came first (maybe poor conditions there helped push her to the darkness?) Though her betrayal seemed to come from nowhere, I'm glad I was pleasantly surprised instead of all "WTF?"

Second, I loved how close to darkness Anakin gets. I agree with previous assessments, it starts his anti-Council sentiments well.

I didn't realize that Palpatine was Tim Curry. I thought he did well, but it will take getting used to. It's not like they can just use another character instead though (like in Green Lantern; didn't they just use a second Guardian instead of recasting the Ian Abercrombie Guardian?)

My only gripe was just how fast the trial went. I'm sure Padmé could've asked for a recess, to hear the verdict tomorrow, not mere hours (at the longest) after the trial started.

Actually, Barriss didn't die at Luminara's side. Luminara was on Kashyyyk and Barriss was on Felucia with Ayla Secura. Before this episode anyway.

I thought it was a great episode. Really starts to move towards ROTS.
