Does anyone play? A friend recently got me started, and I have to say I'm falling for it quickly. My sister inquired if their might be a Star Wars version, and we researched it. Being the hoarder I am, I soon remembered that I had bought a set of Star Wars cards way back when. Venturing into my closet of loot, we indeed found a Collector's Edition box of the original Star Wars trading card game. Cool

But that's a side story. Back to Magic, just curious if there are any fellow players.

Played pretty heavy Magic in HS. Love the game, still have a ton of cards. I tried to teach the wife a few years back just to have someone to play with but that was a no go. Collecting the cards, building a deck, battles! What's not to love?

I liked to play a black/white deck as I had some cards that optimized splitting between the two.

I cannot remember how to play, though. And they did indeed make a Star Wars CCG. It was fairly popular, but not as much as Magic, Pokemon and later YuGiOh.

I almost got into it. My sister got into it first and bought a box of a few thousand cards from eBay. She needed someone to play with so I bought the Path To Victory Intro pack. Unfortunately she never really bothered to learn the rules so I won easily and since there's no one else to play with in my area, my interest died quickly.

Damn my geek unfriendly area Crying or Very sad

I've never played, though the comic book store I go to always has games going. The entire back half the store is tables, and every weekend there's tournaments.

Frankly, it gets a bit irritating, because more than once I've been stuck in line behind someone buying 50 different cards, one at a time. But the store isn't going to turn them away, most of those 50 cards were like $5-10 each! But I'm all "I...I just want to pick up my books, please."

I have heard the Magic crowd is...less than desirable to be around. But I would hope to think I'm not like that. Sad

I just enjoy playing. It's much like an RPG, but...not. And with cards. I don't know, there's just an appeal to the whole thing. Smile

That was how it was back in the day for my fav comic store that merged with a games store, except the comics were in the back so you had to go through the tables to get to them. grr.

I would play if I had cards, but I understand the basic rules of the game. My stister's boyfriend plays, and he taught me how to play.

I can't hear Magic: The Gathering without thinking of...

Sorry. Wink

I'd be open to playing though if I had someone to play with.
