At this point I would very eagerly take that last option for Jacen.... I really don't want to see him killed. I've never been truly a fan of his, I'm an Anakin fan, but I don't want to see him killed.

And on a side note, maybe you've answered this, how did Qui-Gon know it then if there was no one before his to teach him? Eventually, someone had to have discovered it and if that one person can, why can't others?

One of the things Qui-Gon had going for him was that he was so in tune with the Living Force. My guess is that helped him discover it when he died.

Didn't the Shaman of the Whills teach Qui-Gon the secret? It was rumoured that in the Darth Plagueis novel parallel to the title characters quest for immortality Qui-Gon would have had his own version of it...

I don't think the Whills has any definite answer to them because Lucas won't let anyone tell us who they are. There are a bunch of rumors and mysteries with the Whills but until something more concrete is told about them, I don't think about them too much.

Despite my banner, my loyalties lie with the jedi, but recently I fell a connection with Caedus. All in all, I'd much rather see him redemmed than die as a Sith lord.

Okay, just a humble opinion of mine, but the galaxy is constantly under attack and, while I'd like to see several side stories instead of super threats, I think they need to build on the mess they've made. They started another civil war that we're not sure what its about, and they've now created a full on Sith Lord. Caedus has spent a long time headed this way. He's always been an emotional bleeding heart, and Vergere simply expounded on that. Whether or not she really was as Sith may or may not be true, but without a Vergere novel or comic series we may never know for sure. I think that now (since they've officially made him a Sith lord) they may as well use him as a twisted fanatic. He thinks he is doing the right thing, and he doesn't want permanent control. He even stated that he would relenquish authority after the war. I see him carrying on and maybe allowing Ben's character to become more developed, but since he's the most developed EU character that hasn't been killed or whisked away he needs to stay around awhile. I, personally, am afraid of the return of Anakin Solo. I was a fan of his, but I think they need to leave him alone now. A reminder that he exsisted once in awhile is alright, and the fall of Tahiri to the dark side because of her love for him worked, but now they need to let him go. It's sad but true. I don't know what Denning will do with this, but so far he's shown that he can do wonderful things with a crap storyline (Star By Star, The Dark Nest Trilogy) so maybe Invincible can save this choppy, bloody, and very dark series.

We shall see; I think Caedus as a Sith is going to fall but I don't see them letting him limp away to show up in the next series to try it all over again. They could do something like Ulic Qel-Droma but we'll just have to wait less than a month to ponder what they'll do next.

However, since this is all building to the Legacy comic series, no matter what great things Luke or Ben achieve, it's going to be destroyed in only a few years, so what's the point of wondering what they'll do next to bring peace to the galaxy? I think the time period of Legacy has really limited the books for this era so they may need to go back to some other era (already of Dark Times and Clone Wars books coming again....)

And for Anakin Solo: I agree they should let him go, but I think that would be best after Tahiri is redeemed by him (my theory). No resurrection; no always there, just one last showing for a better "good bye", I guess.

Also, welcome aboard, Caedus_16!!

Thanks, glad to be part of the Cantina. I just want to ask: does anyone have any idea which of the major movie characters is gonna die? I just don't think they'll kill Luke, but Han is an excellent candidate (though I really don't want him to die).

I don't think that any of the major movie characters (Luke, Leia, Han, Lando) is going to die in Invincible or in new novels in the near future.

I think DR&LFL have left go of Anakin Solo long time ago, so there won't be any scenes with him in Invincible (I'm doubtful that there would even be any flow-walking scene with him in it). I'm not ready to do so as a fan, though. There's no replacement for him.

Ben is irritating at best, the boy who can't in the end do anything wrong because he is the great ginger hope as there is no one else left. Jaina, I think, will be dead as soon as she and the Fel have gotten couple of kids.

I thought I'd connect with Ben since we're both gingers (I think I'm a "day-walker" Laughing) but I've also found him constantly annoying although he did have some enlightments that I was glad to see but it doesn't seem he's focusing on them too much; he's been so focus on his mother's murder to do much else.

If you think about it though, it really is portraying the human side of a real thirteen year old. I'm actually very surprised on how well the authors were able to get that. Granted, he is annoying at times, but who isn't? Wink

Ben can still be saved. Remember, Anakin Solo was just an annoying little kid in little kid stories (Kenobi's Lightsaber, The Golden Globe) but they develped him into the greatest character in the EU. Then they killed him. I'm still not over that.

ANYWAYS...

If they can take a character from childish storylines to the greatest of all characters then maybe there is hope for Ben (I'm also holding out hope for Allana, but it would seem that the Solo name dies out because there isn't any mention of it in the Legacy series). I think they need to slow down all of this stuff. They're developing characters and then drastically changing them. Jacen was one of the best develped there was (whiny, but developed) and now he's a Sith lord. I guess I could say I'm okay with people who saw that coming, but now he's beyond the point of no return because Jaina and Luke are gonna kill him. Oh well

The Solo name dies out because it changes over to Fel. One more pointer toward Caedus' death and the Han and Leia aren't having anymore kids. Confused

Yeah I kind of gathered that, but I don't even think Jacen considers himself a Solo anymore. He's fully given in to his Sith nature and become Darth Caedus. Han and Leia are too old to have kids, and I don't think they'd try to bring more children into such a harsh world. Of course Jaina will marry Jag because there's no other decent way to merge the Solo line into the Fel dynasty. Hopefully they don't call an audible and do something gay though.
