I think as long as you don't drop in mid-mission or in some way that throws the current story line off balance it would be alright to add new characters to the RPG. We can probably find some way to explain a character's absence from previous missions or explain that new characters a fresh recruits who are joining because of our increasing prestige/fame among mercenary groups.

It's a big Galaxy, I'm sure there are millions of ways he could jump in.

Name: Honor Harrington
Age: 25
Class: Mandalorian
Weapon: Blaster rifle, vibroblade, traditional Mando armor weaponry (flamethrower, knife, etc)
Appearance: Short brown hair with blue eyes. 6 ft, 1 in tall. Fit and in fighting trim. Wears Mandalorian armor that is black with a dark green trim.
Other: Harrington is a very honest sort of person but has no problems fighting. Harrington was born on Corellia and is an expert pilot. Focuses on piloting and on ground combat.

Let me know if anything needs to be changed about him.

Honor Harrington looks fine to me. You do need to come up with a ship though before you can enter the RPG (since the first mission is in space). I approve the general character though.

Some things though that I think need changing:

Class, Mandalorian is more of a race/species than a class (e.g. slicer or tech specialist) so I would suggest replacing it with pilot and/or something else (just put "Mandalorian" in parenthesis next to the character name). You also might want to specify "ground combat" a bit more. Does he specialize in mechanized warfare (in that case what type, light, medium or heavy vehicle's))? sniper? general infantry? etc.

Ship: Blue Vein Small, armed freighter (think Millenium Falcon). The vessel can be flown by one person with the computer assisting in targeting. the Blue Vein has two quadlaser cannons, and concussion missile launchers. The quads are set on each side. [/i]

Well we can certainly incorporate Iron Fist's ship (the Millennium Falcon is a YT-1300 btw) into the "freighter squadron" (break it up into 3 flights of 4 ships each instead of two flights of 6). However, with the recent concerns on having enough fighters I imagine a few people might prefer if you went with something more in the range of a fighter. You could pick something like a Firespray (Slave 1 type ship), and load that out with weapons, which would be a sort of compromise between ship and freighter

Assuming however that you do stick with a YT-1300. It seem rather lightly armed for a combat ship, I would suggest either increasing the armament if you want something in the bomber/gunship role or you could focus your ship as our boarding party shuttle, which could play to your character's infantry focus (assuming that you made a modification to the ship's hull to allow for boarding operations).

When I mentioned the Millenium Falcon, I meant size-wise. But I have my ship now (thanks to Star Wars Galaxies).

That is what my ship looks like. The Blue Vein

The ship sacrifices some of its traditional armor and shielding for enhanced speed so it is much faster that its looks would suggest.

Armament:

1: 2 Laser cannon turrets (left and right of the cockpit in the front)
2: 1 turbolaser turret (on top)
3: 2 Concussion missile launchers (18 missiles)
4: 1 Proton Torpedo launchers (12 torpedoes)

I approve of Iron Fist's character Honor Harrington.

However I'm still thinking about the ship. As is our merc organization has a carrier, two Corellian gunships, two starships, two frieghters, and three Incom X4's.

Suggestion 1: If we allow another freighter, I think we should scrap the idea of each freighter having an additional flight for support. Instead the freighters will form their own flight or operate independently depending on the situation.

Suggestion 2: If we decide against another freighter I would suggest this ship, M12-L Kimogila Heavy Fighter because it is a fighter, looks almost the same, and is basically just a fighter version of the same ship.

Skuldren, can you explain your last post a little more?

Carrier and gunship I understand but why do you differentiate starships, freighters and X4's? And what are X4's? If need be, I will switch to a different Mando fighter.

Well I'm fairly certain I understand most of Darth Skuldren's explinations (having been part of lots of the discussion on what the merc fleet would be made up of).

So by "starship" I believe Darth Skuldren means "starfighter" which merits its own distinction from the carrier and gunships for obvious reasons.

The "Freighters" refers to my own ship (the YT-2000 Sanguine Dawn and BlueX-WingPilot's HWK-290 The Shooting Star) because those two ships don't fall into any specific category of typical military craft while still having modifications to make them valuable to the fleet despite their unorthodox nature. Based on the number of shuttles our carrier can hold we can probably add two more freighters/shuttles to our fleet.

As for the X4s (see here for what they are) I have no idea why they get diffrentiated from the gunships (except for not being exclusively NPC). I was under the impression that Jedi_Christopher (who commands the three X4s in his X4 Crimson Mynock) considered them gunships. If the X4s are going to be gunships in our fleet then we might need to rethink numbers if we want to keep a limit on 4 gunships (either removing one of the DP20s or one of the X4s). My own thought would be limiting it to two X4s to create a balance in gunship types. However, its Jedi_Christopher's call on which gunship gets dropped if we want to limit gunships to 4.

Whatever we do I think we'll need to limit adding any more capital ships or else we'll have a really whacked out fleet.

Whoops! Yeah I meant to say starfighters, big difference there, my fault.

As for gunships, I've come to realize that there are two forms of gunships in the Star Wars realm. The first type, which includes the Incom X4's, is a heavily armed and armored ship for taking on fighters, shuttles, and other light vehicles with impunity. They are like the tanks of the battlefield.

Then their are the big gunships, like the Corellian DP20's, which can gang up on capital ships and cruisers.

I thought we would need the two DP20's to protect our carrier. And the flight of three X4's is like an anti-starfighter unit, which could probably also do some damage on slightly bigger vessels too. Size (and firepower) really distinguishes the two apart. An X4 is around 20 to 40 meters (2 laser cannons, 6 laser cannon turrets), a DP20 Corellian Gunship is 120 meters (8 double turbolaser cannons, 6 quad-laser cannons, 4 concussion missile launchers-30 missiles each). Thus three X4's is kind of equivalent to one DP20, which would give us the three in total that we wanted.

Another thought, if we stick with the flight of three X4's, we probably would only need three squadrons of fighters. And if we have three freighters making another flight, we would probably only need two squadrons of starfighters.
