Blood Oath Speculation and Discussion

I'm thinking that this will probably be a book focused on Zekk, with minor interactions with others. I see it as his journey of self-discovery and all that wonderful stuff.

I see this as going one of two ways:

1. I already don't much care for Zekk...this will further that sentiment and be thus unenjoyable.

2. This will delve into the character of Zekk, give him some depth (perhaps a last name?), and I may actually come to tolerate him, or...*gasp*...perhaps even like him. Smile

What if Zekk's side kick in this novel turns out to be a Gungan? How disappointed would you be on a scale 1 to 10? (1 = meh, Gungans are kind of cool, 10 = I'm going to vomit)

Although, if it's bad enough, it could drop to a 3. Seeing as it would ridiculous enough to be enjoyable. You know how those things tip the scales back the other direction when they get bad enough. Smile

We received the "final" cover art yesterday, but one of the other characters on the cover had to have her blaster changed -- it looked too earth-bound, so we're having it changed to a more Star Wars hold-out blaster style. Dave Seeley is painting the cover, and it looks awesome -- At first glance it looks a bit like a romance novel cover, but don't let that put you off. The cover features Zekk up front, with two women in the background... Hapan women... women you may remember from a previous LotF novel... oh, I just spilled my coffee -- hang on a moment..."

WOO! Now I REALLY want to see the cover soon. Very Happy

Alright...I still want to know how Skuldren knew Zekk would end up with the twins. Was this hinted at in a recent book and I've already forgotten? Because it just blows my mind. Powerful in the Force, you are! Great perception, you have. Confused

In Invincible it was hinted at that Zekk would get together with Taryn.

Yeah, I remember that. I was just happy to think that maybe he'd back off of Jaina enough for Jag to seal the deal. Hopefully that cover art will be available for us all to see soon.

It wasn't so much that he reciprocated as she was just really serious about hitting on him. I really hoped that they would prove enough of a distraction for him that Jag would finally pull ahead, but then he disappeared and I dared to hope that he was dead. Heck, they killed Jacen and Isolder in that book (quite randomly with Isolder to) so why not Zekk? But alas, my dislike for him wasn't enough and now he'd back. Hopefully he has a last name (I'm with you on that one Mara), a new girlfriend, and a better character design than he's had so far (he's been whiny and clingy since they introduced him).

Did anybody see the author's update on the cover of this book? She said it looks like a romance novel, but its not pink. Something about the female fans of the franchise going nuts over Zekk because he's rugged and handsome of something like that.
