We seem to forget Iron Man. Before Batman came out, this was the hottest movie of the summer, and was called the greatest superhero movie ever. I think it was good, but Batman was sooo much better. Who agrees that Dark Knight was the best film this summer?

I am tempted to agree with you, even though I haven't seen it yet, just because of what a friend of mine told me. She is in the movie-making business (well...she's going to school for it at the moment, anyway), and it's hard to watch a movie with her. She can't help but criticize every fault. Yet, with Dark Knight, she said it was the first movie she was able to watch without criticizing, and could actually enjoy it all the way through. Well...she did criticize one of the actor's acting, but that was it. Sooo...soon as I'm able to see it, I'll place an actual opinion.

Lol, I seem to be the only one, but i really didnt care for Iron Man. In fact, i dont even know if i want to watch the sequel in theaters. Batman was far superior in my opinion.

So far super-hero movies for me rank as such (completely my opinion)

- Batman : Begins (yes i liked it better then dark knight)
- Batman : The Dark Knight (Way to much joker press caused me to get kind of sick of it. Brilliant actor, but i can only take so much. I call it the Napolean Dynamite effect)
- Spiderman 2
- Spiderman 1
- Spiderman 3
- Iron Man (didnt really like it but this is where it comes in)

Movies that cant make the list

- Fabulous 4 series
- Hulk

Ah, I like your placing of the Spidermans. I agree with 2, 1, 3. Smile

*slaps forehead* AGAIN?!!! Man I am off today with the spelling. This time however I have a good excuse: I'm not much of a Superman fan and the only spellings I've ever seen are when the subtitles are set to "on" for the DVD, and since I haven't watched a Superman movie in at least a year it make sense why my spelling isn't perfect in this case.

Sadly I don't have that kind of technological skill or else I would happily make a youtube video. If someone else on the forum has the skill and wants to make it into a youtube video they have my permission provided they give me credit for the idea.

@FatalFist: you will not get me to say that Tropic Thunder is a better movie than Batman The Dark Knight...however, I would say it's possibly the best comedy of the year (though I didn't see too many comedies this year) and that it beats Batman in being a more upbeat, fun, and funny film.

Now, back to Iron Man. I thought Iron Man was a great film. It was fun, entertaining, and surprised me at how much it exceeded my expectations. I thought Iron Man was better than Indy IV, and lost out to Batman only due to Ledger's outstanding dramatic performance as the Joker.

Looks like Batman wasn't the ultimate pawnage that I had forseen...

Still, I believe Batman trumps Indy. Indy was good, but Batman was better. Of course Batman had a more serious theme running through it which allowed for deeper acting. Yet, I think it is that deeper level of drama that defeats the fun that Indy brought to the table. Now to pit Batman against Tropic Thunder, again I give the victory to Batman. Tropic Thunder was hilarious, but its comedy is no match for Batman's uberness. The Joker pwns again. So that leaves the only other contestant thus far...Jet Li's Forbidden Kingdom. Sadly, I have not seen this movie so I can't give specific, truthful reasons.

Regardless, Batman pwns Jet Li. Very Happy

Ha ha! Bring it on! I now nominate Iron Man the second best movie...of the YEAR! (Batman, of course, number 1)

Edit: I forgot, someone mentioned Prince Caspian. PWN PWN PWN. BOOM. BANG. Batman wins... Laughing

Whoah, whoah, whoah. What about Prince Caspian? And we shouldn't forget WALL-E which, in my opinion was the best movie of the summer (Caspian is still my favorite: there is a difference, by the way)...

The best way to improve the country is to let those in charge handle issues.

I'm more of the opinion that they need to listen to the majority of the people, and the people are saying "let big business fail, no bail out."

No I think the person in charge should make the big descisions. It's the only way things get done.

But, can we just sit back and hope that these people can get the job done? Is it part of our responsibility as citizens of this country to help it improve? Or do we just wait for others to make it better?
