I really wish Darkmeld wouldn't have gotten stopped so soon. That was really cool and it fit Jaina's character really well. At least it would've given her something cool to do instead of just being Jag's on-again, off-again fiance. |
I seriously thought that Darkmeld would be the beginning of a sort of Imperial Knights-esqe group. I guess not. I totally agree with you that it gave her something cool to do instead of the whole Jag drama. Dont get me wrong, I love their relationship storyline most of the time, but at this point it should be relatively resolved and Jaina should be kicking butt.
You also made a good point about Jaina just all of a sudden coming into a huge role at the end of the LOTF series. It felt rushed, and forced. She barely had any interaction with Jacen in the span of 9 books before the confrontation. It just wasn't built up enough, and the final battle left me feeling with of incompleteness.
@Padme, I also liked her best early NJO. After Dark Journey, I've been dissapointed with how she's been handled, especially in the Dark Nest Trilogy. It almost ruined her character for me. They really need to step up her characterization! I don't know if the writers just don't know how to write her or what, but it needs fixing. She deserves an awesome stand alone novel. _________________ "How's that for a system malfunction?" -Jaina Solo
