kurtdc Master Joined: 15 May 2008 Posts: 602 Location: boston I think there was more of a gap than that. People tried talking to him once it was clear which direction he was going. I think the bigger problem was how much they denied his path until it was so blatantly obvious. I don't know that death was inevitable, but they could have stripped him of the force(didn't Luke develop that ability?).

Heck I'm still hoping for some lingering emotions for Jacen from ANY of them. I mean Han- took how many books to get over Chewie? Luke how many with Mara? Jacen's being ignored it seems. The argument "He wasn't our Jacen anymore" is kinda being used to excuse the lack of emotion. _________________ All things die, Anakin Skywalker, even stars burn out. Rouge77 Master Joined: 22 Mar 2008 Posts: 599 If they wanted Jaina to kill poor Jacen, there's no reason why Jaina and Luke couldn't have gone together to confront Jacen and in the ensuing battle Luke would have been wounded and become incapacitated, which would have even fit Jacen's visions of Betrayal. Then the twins could have had a duel with it's (to me) negative ending. Thus, Luke wouldn't have looked like a wimp (but perhaps a little weak, why such thing would have been no-go I guess) and Jacen could have shined a moment before his death, and later everyone could have argued endlessly whether Jaina is now more powerful than Luke...

Cause Jania as his twin sister, and Mara's Apprentice has less attachment? See I couldn't buy it. It doesn't make sense. It would have maybe had Jania used any of the Mando training she ARGUED she'd need to do the job no one else could. I would say these are signs too Luke missed- she was preparing to kill Jacen from the start- his letting her train was about as close to signing the assassination slip. After all when she did it she was sneaking into a GA ship and killed it's commander- hmm like Tahiri killed Palleaon and then had to stand trial...
