Sorry, for the double post, but speaking of Mr. Christopher Nolan, may I present the Interstellar trailer:

I finally saw Gravity. Now, I understand from many of you that it had a much bigger impact on the big screen, and I don't doubt it. I still enjoyed it, it deserved most of the awards it got. Although I'm baffled as to why Sandra Bullock got the Best Actress title. It was a good performance, but not outstanding, in my opinion.

Oh, her name is Peggy! My bad. Shows what a good fan I am. It just always sounds like he says Becky. Anyway, my sisters wanted to see the movie, so I've watched it a second time. Thoughts:

That Interstellar trailer looks intriguing. I'm curious whether most of the movie is going to be Matthew McConaughey prepping for this interstellar trip, or if the bulk of the movie will be post trip and this trailer is just teasing us with plot setup.

I'm guessing the latter. It feels like one of those "we can't market the film correctly without giving away the story too much" type of movies.

I was wondering that. There's good reason to assume this movie will jump around the timeline because a) Christopher Nolan loves non-linear storytelling and b) the plot involves wormholes, so time travel will probably be involved.

Have people seen the new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy? I'm looking forward to it even more than before!

I saw the first trailer, so I'll be staying away from all other trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm going to head into that one spoiler free.

I saw Godzilla yesterday and really enjoyed it. I'm not a hardcore Godzilla fan, but I'd say this is the best Godzilla movie I've seen. I liked it better than Pacific Rim. The director did a really good job of not over exposing the monster and not clubbing viewers over the head with 2 hours of non-stop, over-the-top action/destruction. It was well done and nicely balanced. I also liked how they continually reoriented the story back to the human characters. They would show a shot of the giant monster destroying a skyscraper and zoom down to show one of the human characters the story follows to give the audience a reason to care. Plus there was an interesting theme to the movie about fear.

Now for some mild spoilers...

I have to give major props to the film for actually making me care about a giant lizard. I was totally rooting for Godzilla by the end of the film.

I don't think it's possible for me to be more excited about a movie featuring a talking raccoon with a machine gun.

Speaking of Pacific Rim, Skuls, I saw it yesterday. I have to say, what impressed me most was that the token female character wasn't technically a love interest for the main character. I appreciate that.

Sooo ...

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Subtitle sounds fine, but I wish they'd kept Man of Steel for the first part.

The lack of "Man of Steel" makes me think that this will really be a setup for a Justice League movie and barely be recognizable as a Man of Steel sequel at all.

Which isn't a bad thing, per se. I actually really enjoyed Man of Steel, but seeing this grow into its own thing will be cool. I'm just sad that they aren't making any of the DC television shows in the same universe as these movies. I'd love to see Stephen Amell as the Arrow in the movies.

I'm still struggling to conceive what the plot might be. Batman pursuing a guy responsible for destroying a city? Superman hunting down a masked vigilante? Batman and Superman vying over who can get the most spots on daytime talk shows?

I'm still struggling to conceive how this can be a fair fight at all. Superman could pretty much break Batman's neck with a sneeze. I hate to admit it, but it's true.

Well it all comes down to kryptonite. With that, Batman has a chance. But I'm more concerned about motivations. They're both good guys. Why would they fight each other?
