I'm sorry, DLE. I would say "I hope you feel better", but you say that when pets die. How about "my thoughts are with you".

I'm getting the tell-tale signs of depression. Things haven't been going my way recently. Sad

I'm right there with you Reep. I recently admitted to some friends that I probably need counseling and have been hunting for one. There's no shame in it, sometimes you just need a professional to talk it out with.

Thank you, everyone, for prayers and support. It means a lot that my Star Wars community is there for me. My parents went to Canada for the funeral, so it's just me and the doggies at home.

@Reep: Sorry to hear that things aren't going your way. Like Caedus said, there's no shame in getting professional help. I hope you start to feel better soon.

@Caedus: Best of luck on finding a counselor, and I hope you find the help you need. Hang in there.

Definitely no shame! I saw a therapist recently, the brain is an odd thing sometimes it needs a little tune up. I was feeling completely overwhelmed by family and work and I am doing much better now.

Its a little embarrassing for me to see one...I am one credit short of a psych major so Its just odd to me. But I had my first session and it was extremely helpful. I released a lot and I'll give them credit they took a lot from me as I'm a fairly stony, odd, off-putting person and I like this one. I think I'll be staying with them as a therapist.

My gripe: watching people make bad life choices and not being able to do anything.

That sounds familiar. I think you posted something similar the other day. I assume it's a continuing issue? Sorry to hear it, as I know exactly what you mean. I currently have a friend who's making a very...unwise choice. I finally confronted them today and told them so. They replied that they heard me, they knew I didn't approve, and they realized it might not be the best decision, but they were making it anyway. They concluded with basically that this was not my decision to make. And unfortunately, they were right. This person is still my friend, and I will still stand by them. Do I think what they're doing is a good decision? No, far from it. To put it frankly, it's a stupid decision. But I can't make this about me. I will be a friend throughout.

Sorry, didn't mean to go that far with the story. Just completely reminded me of what I dealt with today. Neutral

Yeah, it's something very similar to that. It's very upsetting to me as I believe the direction my friend is choosing to be a very damaging one, but I've accepted there's nothing I can do.

I just had my last exam, so I just want to sit down and play Skyrim, but I have to do tech for a stupid school concert from 15:00 to 22:00.

People who say that they are a certain age and that they don't have to learn anything new!! I've ran across several people like that.

It boggles the mind!! Why would you not want to learn anything new?

@SidiousThrawn: I have a friend who is exactly like that. She grew up and the things she grew up liking are the only things that are worth anything to her. We took her to Universal Studios, before she even got out of the car she said she'd probably not like it as well as the theme park near her house that she always goes to. We go to get Vietnamese food, she orders the one 'white people' thing on the menu. John Wayne is the only good actor to her and she hates modern movies. Sometimes you just...wanna strangle her lol
