I'm joining in on the friend gripes. I have one who is basically a former friend at this time because she's completely changed every aspect of herself to the point where I don't even want to be around her and another who's going through a generally annoying phase.

Last friend I had that went through those phases (at the same time...ugh) was a girlfriend and I hated every minute of it in the end. I don't know what to tell you and won't presume to, but I'm honestly better off without her.

I honestly think the phase will pass since it's really not like her, but it's really irritating at the present time.

All friends go through it. Right now I have several going through several odd phases.

Friend 1 - Selfish and kind of an on-and-off jerk but like I said he's getting better

Friend 2 - frustrated because the girl he's been in love with for 4 years is dating some other guy (even though he didn't ever get up the courage to say anything) and he's lashing out.

Friend 3 - Spent a year wanting a serious relationship and to be in love, now wants a fling just to have one because he's apparently happy being single all of the sudden

Friend 4 - Dating a 17 year old...at 23 years of age. Feels like it could be something real even though its "Camp Goggles" which I will explain sometime. I worry about this one because he's just now getting over a lot of PTSD and such.

Watching my family pack for the first trip I will be unable to attend, due to my job. I guess it's finally time to be a big girl, but I'm sad. Sad

As a positive you have the house to yourself for a bit? So maybe that'll be fun?

I'm in a very bad mood right now. Evil or Very Mad

I just discovered that Disc 3 in Season 1 of "Downton Abbey" has somehow gotten a bad crack in it, which means I'll have to replace the set and I've only had it for a month! It looks like the Saeson 2 discs are showing slight signs of possible cracks as well and I could have to replace it too.

The discs were all fine when I purchased the sets, which makes me wonder if perhaps the difficulty I'm having trying to get the discs out of the slots is what's responsible for the cracking. I try to be as easy as I can, but those slots are stubborn.

To top it all off, Mom flat out refused to let me buy a large DVD wallet-case to put all my DVDs in, even though I told her it would save room. She said they would get scratched up too much, but I'd rather have possible scratches than cracked discs that have to be replaced, draining even more of my money!

*stalks off fuming*

Contact the manufacturer. It's possible that this is an ongoing problem that people have reported, and they might mail you the discs that are broken.

I have The Complete Series set of ALIAS, and they put the discs in cardboard sleeves that guaranteed scratching when you took them out. As a result, the guy I bought the set off had taken the best discs from three sets and assembled a near-perfect one (which I bought from him on eBay). But he told me that he just spoke with people from the company, and they sent him replacement discs for free, because they knew it was a manufacturing flaw.

My large wallet scratches minutely, but beyond makes up for the issues with some packaging.

Thanks, Taral.

I've never had much trouble with getting DVDs out of the cases - I might have to do a little bit of tugging occasionally - but the DA DVDs are the worst ones I've ever had. No matter how hard I push down on the center "pluck hub" before I try to get the disc out, the fit is still too tight, and I think that's how the disc got cracked. It's possible, of course, that the crack was there when I purchased the set, but wasn't an issue until I started having problems trying to remove the disc.

The Walking Dead issue 100 came out today. This series has been teetering after the astounding first 50 issues, but they were promising a step back in the right direction starting with this issue. Instead...
