Multiple gripes;

Had to go to the cinema, which I didn't mind but the the cable for my new Commodore 64 arrived, so I thought I'd rather do that, but I had to go to the cinema. I went, thinking we were seeing Prometheus, but I arrived 40 minutes late, they told me we were seeing MIB 3 instead, couldn't find my friends and ended up sitting on my own watching a not-so-bad, not-so-great movie.

Then I go home, test out the new cable, and it doesn't work. Something to do with old console/new TV/different signals blah blah blah. Spend ages on that. Bring it downstairs, football's on, so I have to wait half an hour. I hook it up, it works fine but I have no idea how to use it. I spend some time trying to work it out, and eventually do it, but some games didn't work, and I didn't know how to fix them. I finally get it all working and I'm kicked off the TV. Bleh.

I found out that my favourite teacher got fined for helping students with homework - which apparently is against board policy outside of 15 minutes before or after class. The school system... actually don't get me started. *headdesk*

This is only half a gripe because its turning into a pretty decent evening hanging out with the guys but...

I drove all the way to NE to see this girl and take her out because we've been getting to know each other and kind of enjoying each other's personalities and such lately so I thought what the heck, why not take a shot. So I drove all the way up here and she's been sick the whole weekend so we didn't go out and I haven't seen her yet even so it was kind of a bust. Oh well though, bro-out-night is kinda turning out fun. Still disappointed, but not as much as I was.

Played in a football (soccer) match for my work team tonight. Were 8-3 up, I'd scored 4 of them. One of my teammates went into a tackle and dislocated his ankle. It popped back in thankfully. We called an ambulance and were told as he was conscious and the ankle was back in it's socket it wasn't a critical emergency but a paramedic would be there soon. 30 minutes later and no paramedic on the scene. 5 minutes later we received a call back telling us a paramedic wouldn't be coming and that he had to take himself to hospital. Quite how he was supposed to do that I have no idea. Another teammate has taken him to hospital but the whole situation was ridiculous. Firstly, there's a reason I pay council tax/national insurance- to provide a service in an situation like this, and secondly- if there was no paramedic to be sent, why couldn't we be told that in the first place, not 35 minutes later? Also the game was abandoned and my goals won't count Sad

Today, my friend referred to Padmè as "Queen Llama-something-or-other". *sigh*

My friend refers to Maul as "the Devil guy." The first time he said it, I thought he was referring to Labria.

My trekkie friend refers to Vader as "The guy with the breathing problem" and Luke as "That whiny kid that's Hayden from before"

I was sorely tempted.

@Joe: I was once called "Queen Armadillo". It was a strange incident.

*sigh* No. I was in Mississippi on a church trip and was nicknamed "Padmè" because of reasons. One of the boys began calling me "Queen Armadillo" because it amused him. It was an odd year in which everyone got Star Wars nicknames.

Does anyone have any experience in writing or delivering eulogies?

I'm about to go through an incredibly rough patch in my personal life in the next few days. In getting ready for an upcoming funeral, I've been asked to give a eulogy. If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it.
