I think a prequel will work nicely actually. I'd rather they do that than a sequel.

Is anyone else disappointed the the Monster Inc sequel will actually be a prequel?

Didn't know that until now, but I'm not really disappointed.

It's not really that I'm against the idea so much as I'm disappointed that Boo won't be part of the story.

I saw Cars 2 on Monday. It was a really enjoyable movie, but it was nowhere near Pixar's other movies as far as sophistication goes. It was one of Pixar's best visually but it suffered story-wise. The pacing was way too fast and became the Achille's heel of the movie. It managed to pull on my heartstrings a bit but not like the other ones have. I'm still kind of mixed about it but I'll give it a general thumbs up. Good but not great. If you're a big fan of Pixar like me, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, you may find it a little forgettable.

So, basically, it was good, but not "Pixar good".

Pretty much. However I watched Madagascar 2 at the camp I'm volunteering at today and Cars 2 seemed like a masterpiece in comparison. Razz

I'm not sure if anyone has seen the trailer for Brave yet, but it looks fantastic!

Yeah I guess... but picturing the Silver Sea done Pixar-style with a Michael Giacchino score in the background gives me the chills.

And, wait, are you judging Cars 2 without having seen it?

Picturing it done well in live action gives me chills. Wink But I am excited about Brave. I kinda love how Merida isn't drop dead beautiful.

^Yeah, I thought the same.

I love how the trailer is kind of dark though, like a classic Grimm fairy tale. Cool

Yeah, I'm excited about that. I love a good dark story that isn't afraid of itself.
