Summer - And So It Starts

Well I'm off again. Am going to a camp up near Dallas. It's like a military sort of camp, called ALERT. It stands for Air Land Emergency Resource Team. The program is privately owned, but the members have been called on numerous times by the government to help with rescue operations. For instance, they helped search after the Columbia shuttle accident.

Anyway, all that to say that they've been low on help lately, and need some people to help out in the kitchens and stuff preparing food for the guys in the program, as well as everyone else on campus. So that's where my friend and I come in. We went up their back in January and had a lot of fun, so wanted to go back and help again. Will be leaving tomorrow and be gone for a week.

So yeah, as usual there probably won't be any internet connection (not where I'm staying, anyway), so I'll be absent for a little while. Try to be good while I'm gone! Wink

Will be gone until Sunday. Anyway, guess will see you guys then! If I find any internet while I'm gone, I'll be dropping in. Smile

You like Eisley, really? I've heard only one of their songs, I think, and I can't even remember what it was. Hmm...now you've got me curious. I'll have to go check them out.

BTW, I'm here already, but I've got internet tonight. Not sure that'll be the case the next few nights, though. But anyway.

Eisley's kind of an aquired taste, I must say. They're definately a lot quieter than most of the stuff I listen to, but I still think they're awesome. Actually I have heard their new CD (coming this fall) is supposed to be louder, so I can't wait! Smile

Gosh, it feels like forever since I've logged in. Got back from Texas yesterday. Yes, I was with Mara at that children's conference. It was a lot of fun. Very Happy

Anyway, nice to be back. And, hey, isn't summer kind of over now? So sad..... Sad

Now I'm depressed. Sad

I'm switching school's this year- going from a backwater high-school to a full-fledged high-school. It's gonna be a huge culture shock and I'm not really looking forward to it.
