Wild Space - Karen Miller

I wasn't sure where to put this, so somebody feel free to move it. But was just wondering if anyone was planning on picking this up? I'm considering it, but haven't yet decided. I've been falling behind on the episodes (they just don't interest me enough), and so thought maybe the book would be a better way of keeping up.

But anyway, just curious to see if anybody else is reading/purchasing it.

If you haven't picked up Wild Space yet, you should. It is easily one of the best SW novels of the year (Well, last year). Miller does wonders for the SW universe and some old characters we've already seen. To start off with, she gives us a proper ending to Episode II, a deepening of Bail Organa's, Obi-wan's, Padme's, Anakin's, Mace's, Yoda's and Palpatine's characters.

I can't say much more without spoiling but I'd highly recommend grabbing the book. It is fantastic in every way.

Latest EUC Video Game Review: Knights of the Old REpublic

All I have to say is that I loved it-- I mean loved it. Miller's characterization of all the characters, but especially Yoda and Obi-Wan, was superb. The way she made it actually fit into the series (although it's messed up due to Downfall of the Droid airing later than it actually takes place.) was very cool. When these were announced, and even before WS released, I had no idea what to expect in terms of story and setting of those stories. I'm sure they may not all connect, but she did it very well.

If Miller keeps this up, I'd love to see her around for more SW novels--especially Jedi. I find it a perfect mixture for Karen Traviss' more solider focused novels, although she has written Jedi characters well a few times now.

Wow, now ya'll make me regret picking up The Lost World instead. I bought Wild Space a few days ago, but have been reading Jurassic Park. Was planning on reading WS next, but with Jurassic Park being so excellent, I went straight to TLW. Who knows...I might read both at the same time. I find myself doing that a lot when I can't decide which one to read first. Smile

Finally read Wild Space last week. I was very impressed with Miller. She did an excellent job of slipping into the Star Wars realm. All the characters were perfect, she threw in all sorts of cool factoids here and there. Plus the characterization of Bail Organa was a big surprise. I never thought he'd be such an interesting to character to have fleshed out.

Wow, this book was excellent! I've been on break from school, so was finally able to get some reading done. And last night I was unable to put it down! I read 100 pages straight through, which usually isn't possible for me.
