Yes, but Lucas should let Dave Filoni have full charge of its conception and production.

I don't mind Lucas being involved in the same capacity he was involved with The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I like Filoni, but he's more of a TV guy, isn't he? I wouldn't mind either way, Filoni is a big SW fan and knows what he's doing.

I definitely think that Lucas should not take it upon himself to write the script and direct.

I didn't know that he wrote for Avatar: The Last Airbender. That's rad.

But I'd have to say that JJ Abrams should do it. But since he's doing Star Trek, I guess that means it will never happen.

I wouldn't be opposed to having Filoni making more films. I don't think they'd be amazing (as TCW, for the most part, isn't), but I'd rather it be him than Lucas.

Okay, who could do it? And don't say Peter Jackson.

There should be new trilogy, but one where GL would not be in the driver's seat. I'm afraid he would smash my precious EU to bits if he would write and perhaps direct too a new trilogy either pre-PT or post-OT. So, I would like to see either a trilogy placed in the OT of pre-Bane days (KOTOR, perhaps) or post-Legacy, and this trilogy should respect the existing EU. So, the writer of the scripts should be a slave to canon, so to say.Wink

I disagree. It just wouldn't feel the same if George Lucas wasn't behind the wheel. It just wouldn't feel right, you pickin' up what i'm puttin' down. if you tried to make SW without GL, it would just not look right, feel right, or be good at all. And i know at least one person agrees

Oh, I can think of a few TCW episodes that did well without (so far as we know) Lucas' input.

Peter Jackson?

Whenever the question of a new director is brought up Peter Jackson is always the first name brought up. Razz

I don't even understand why there is a choice for "I don't care either way" or no

But for another director, I would not suggest J.J. Abrams. He'll just go back and debunk everything that happened in the movies, kinda like he did with Star Trek.

Looking back, this thread is hilarious... Laughing
