@Caedus: I agree that the realtionship between Daala and Nek is really weird and hard to conceive, however, that's because I'd picture it as a person dating their dog. But, this is Star Wars and this isn't the first time a human has dated a Bothan. That got started in the X-wing series.

I highly suggest to all to read the very short excerpt from Conviction when done- it literally picks up from Vortex's ending.

I usually dislike it when books pick up in the exact spot where the last one ended. It makes them feel less like individual books, deserving of my attention, and more like read-once-and-throw-aways. Confused

Yeah it needs to be in a series and even then it can backfire.

But this case- Denning and Allston work well together! I guarantee you'll be happy to read the 7 pages.

My library finally has this book in-process, which means it should show its face sometime in the next week or so. Excited! Smile

After reading this particular passage several times, and remembering to keep it in context, I finally came to the conclusion that it wasn't meant to be a joke. However...! That's how I took it, and I actually laughed out loud, which is quite rare for myself. So, thought I'd share:

"So you're suggesting...what, exactly?" Kyp asked. "Because chasing off an entire brigade of Mandalorians is a pretty tall order, even for a Jedi Knight."
"You are right, Master Durron, Saba said. "We may have to send two."

~Kyp Durron and Saba Sebatyne - Fate of the Jedi: Vortex

Very Happy

Wow. Absolute wow. Shocked

I still haven't finished, but allow me to say this before I give my final assessment tomorrow (because I can assure you I will be finished shortly):

Vortex is freaking amazing! I haven't read Star Wars this good in such a long time. My faith has been, at least temporarily, restored in full. Very Happy
