In both families, parents put their children on careers that took them to danger and at very early ages let them go to harms way. Deaths were result. If Soontir wouldn't have been such a macho gung-ho military man, his children could have well chosen civilian professions and none of them would have died young. But now they tried to follow his (and not their mother's) footsteps and three of them died young.

And when Jacen, largely through his NJO experiences and because of Anakin's death, went crazy and Sith, his parents took a very harsh stance against him. They might not have been able to save him, but if they would have not approved his killing, then perhaps Jaina would have remembered her parents opposition and would have spared Jacen after she had defeated him in Invincible. Now she had parental approval to kill her only surviving sibling. And so she did it.

I think she was prepared to do it no matter what her parents thought. The fact that they approved just made it...easier.

Wait- so are you saying that from both families the kids die of their own accord, not because of the parents? Sorry, I might be missing the point here...

Though i dont agree wid the fact that Han And Liea are responsible for Anakins death..cuz after all they had disagreed to the mission at first...but they had known that their children were training to become Jedi KNights...which is prety much a deathwish:P

The Fel Family however...yes...The Father was an ace pilot...and if his sons hadnt followed his footsteps>>The Sons Mite think they were letting their Father down>> Their Father being an ace pilot mite hav been able to tell that his sons werent exactly =exceptionally brilliant= during the training sessions.

Thus FEl and the SoLos Both knew Their Children were in a path that was filled wid death.

Coming back to the topic
I want to see how Jag raises his kids??The Sons become pilots...the daughters become Jedi Knights???

That would be cool, as long as they are not all Jedi. Because every Solo or Skywalker kid or parent (besides Han & Padme & Shmi) was a Jedi Knight, so it would be nice to see some kid break free.

I've never really cared for Jag. He seems kind of one-dimensional (aka cardboard). He's just a dull character I think, more like someone needed a character to fill a spot, so Jag was created to be used when an author needs someone.

You guys need to look deeper! Technically, he hasnt gotten alot of page time, which will change in FOTJ so we can see more sides of him. As in books past, it says he doesnt like to show emotion, or public displays of affection or whatever, which makes him kind of boring...sometimes!!!! Maybe youll like him better when they expand on his character in Blood Oath and the upcoming FOTJ books, because we havent seen nearly enough of him without Jaina to formulate a well rounded opinion. You have to admit though,,,wasnt he kind of cool with those Mando crushgaunts in Outcast???? Wink

Hey, I like Jag. But I agree with Sword...he hasn't been written about near enough. Once they delve more deeply into his character, perhaps then we can judge more accurately. So it's now 3-2...the odds are looking up! Wink

Jag + crushgaunts = PURE WIN!

Now it's 3-3, tie game. Ha ha Laughing

For me, Jag is cool because he excels through the use of his own tried and true skill rather than having the Force as a crutch. He's often able to hang with the Jedi in combat because he has so much skill, and sometimes he even surpasses them. And I like the fact that he's pragmatic. He sees the crushgaunts and thinks "Those could be useful." Whereas Han and jaina look at them and think "I don't want Fett's stuff." Jag has common sense.
