EUCast: Live or Pre-recorded?

MasterAndrew15 Administrator Joined: 22 Oct 2007 Posts: 940 Location: United States The EUCast crew has been wondering which format the show should be recorded in: Live or pre-recorded. Both are the same to edit, but each crew member thinks the choice should be put up to you. As announced in EUCast 34, (which will be released today) we want to know what you think, as the fans are why we even do the show. You can vote on the main page for what you want. On Sunday, September 7 we will look at the polls and make our choice. Listeners will then be notified the following week as to how the show will be recording from then on. We'd also like to hear why you voted for what you did, so please feel free to tell us here or via e-mail (eucast@eucantina.net). The sound qaulity is better, and the shows run smoother, and I'm sure it's a whole lot easier on you hosts . Of course, that is from the perspective of someone who doesn't have time to listen to the live recordings. But for someone like me who gets the show of Itunes, pre-recorded is better. _________________

The quality is better due to the fact Ustream isn't in the equation when we pre-record. Editing is the same, however. As of right now, Live is winning, but there's still a few more days. Again, please feel free to vote and then tell us why you did; the hosts have a whole bunch of fun doing it either way so your opinion, as always, is valued and respected. _________________ EUCantina.net Founder. Rouge77 Master Joined: 22 Mar 2008 Posts: 599 I voted pre-recorded. It's not that I have anything against live as such, but pre-recorded podcasts - I'm not talking about EUC, just about podcasts overall - tend to be more polished and stay better on the subjects.

All regular, Cantina Chats, and mini-casts will be pre-recorded and released on Monday afternoons. HOWEVER, most specials will be recorded live and announced on EU Cantina.net a week or more before the date of the show. comanderbly Master Joined: 29 Feb 2008 Posts: 745 Location: Denver Sounds like a great decision. I have had trouble making the last few live shows, baseball games, etc. When you guys do interviews and there are big events (CW for example) its easier to make the time.
