What are your thoughts on this "religion" or cult or whatever you want to call it that more than 500,000 people practice?

Yeah. The Force isn't even real! I don't even get how you could do this. Like walk around pretending to use the Force on automatic supermarket doors? Who knows.

Hmm, the Force is based off some religious aspects from Asia, so saying it's not completely real may be the wrong way of addressing it. Also, I find many philosophical points that the Jedi discuss concerning the Force very enlightening and apply just as much in our world as the galaxy far, far away; one shouldn't be too quick to slam another's beliefs. As for the Jediism (I didn't even know that was a word), I think it's more for a joke then anything, but then again some people still believe the sun orbits the Earth (sorry if I offended anyone who does believe it).

Look at how many people look for UFOs because of other Sci-Fi movies. It's all what a fool believes.

The mention of the word "fool" bothers me for some reason but I can't really say why. While some, like I previously said, may do it for nothing more than a joke, others may do it because they hope for something better. Of course, they do need to get a grasp on fiction and reality (even I've had conflicts with this, and I'll admit it without hesitation) but calling them "fools" might be too much. Maybe something along the lines of "seeking answers" is a better way to think about it. Also, I would hope these things would be more children driven then adult but when the British census spits out these numbers, I don't think there's as many children there Wink

I won't say that I believe in UFO's, because I haven't seen one, but I do consider the possibility that they could exist.

Besides, whose the fool? The one who says they saw a UFO or the one who fails to even consider the possibility of such a thing existing?

I'm sure there are people who consider us foolish for spending time on a Star Wars message board discussing the religion of Jedi. Wink

I'm actually learning about this religion in my World Religions class. It's actually really scary that people actually believe about the force and all that. I'm actually planning on writing a paper about it for this class.

Very nicely put, Skuldren. I also believe in the possibility of UFOs and extra-terrestrials. I don't necessarily believe that they do exist, but that they certainly could.

I find the fact that people actually believe in the Force a bit disturbing. Of course, this could be due to the fact I don't believe that UFOs or extra-terrestrials exist. *shrugs*

I most definitely believe there are aliens out there. Why else would the universe be so ridiculously huge?
