Happy belated birthday, mon ami!
I just got back from a great vacation. The missus and I spent a few days with my in-laws, then a few days at a nice fancy hotel in downtown Toronto (during that time, we celebrated our third wedding anniversary), and then a couple of days with my family at their seasonal campsite. We:
-Saw all three of my wife's grandparents, as well as my one living grandmother;
-Saw my sister and her three kids (4-year-old twins and a 4-month-old baby);
-Went shopping with my sisters-in-law;
-Saw "The Wolverine";
-Had numerous family dinners with my in-laws;
-Went up the CN Tower (formerly the Largest Free-Standing Structure, until the Burj was finished, it has cool viewing areas and a transparent floor);
-Went to a restaurant that specializes in Bacon Sandwiches (seriously!);
-Did an "Urban Quest" (like a scavenger hunt, which took us through an old market, Chinatown, the Walk of Fame, etc.);
-Did a boat cruise of Lake Ontario, seeing the cityscape at night;
-Went to the Royal Ontario Museum;
-Toured Queen's Park (the Ontario provincial legislature; my wife and I have so far toured the parliaments of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario, and the federal one);
-Had a nice camp fire, where we cooked Pie Irons;
Overall, an absolutely wonderful vacation. If anyone ever gets the chance to see Toronto, I recommend it wholeheartedly.
It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
