IIRC- 10-14 deal with other characters who were added to the series. Their stories are connected, but only in the later book. Right now theirs is a side plot that will connect with Calkin's character.
I've got a lot of Lan-Pal plot written up, but I was so far ahead of myself in the soty that I was writing parts of the next book as I was still doing this one. Just riding the ideas at the time. lol
