Uh, well I don't really consider myself an "uber-geek", but it's pretty hard to find Star Wars fans, at leaast for me. I remember, when I was little, everone was into Star Wars and I hadn't seen it and I felt kinda left out. I watched when I was older then, when I wanted to talk about it, the craze seemed to have died down. Just my luck. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Yeah I've found few self proclaimed "Uber-Geeks" I'm totally proud to be one myself! Just wish there were more of us.

Has Florida had a comic con or anything like that? I don't think Oregon ever will.

No, but it's possible that Celebration V may take place in Orlando, which is where I live. Plus, Disney World has Star Wars Weekends every year.

I live in boston and don't know any other SW fans other than the ones I am creating with my two sons.

I don't know about being an Uber-geek or whatever, but when my patients peek their head in my office they see all the books and pretty much all of say "dam, you really like star wars" . Most peolpe I talk to, if it comes up, don't even realize there is such thing as an EU. It's too bad, because the only people I can discuss it with are here online or explaining the continuing saga to my sons(which I love to do).

I'd love to have an actual live person to discuss the EU with.

Well, both of my guys birthdays are coming within the next month. I just got em each a lego star wars and each a new ship(the new ARC fighter and some kind of ground tank, already forgot what). I also got em one that plugs in the TV, but the controller is like a flight controller and you are flying various ships.

Add to that two transformer toys and they are all set for the birthday.

So yeah, I am totally reliving my childhood with the star wars toys. I could care less about the transformers, but gotta get em what they like.

I was writing my birthday list a couple days ago and, only later, did I realize there was nothing Star Wars on it. It's been years since my birthday list was Star Wars free, what's happening to me... Confused

I'm in Wisconsin. *sigh* Cheeseheads. *twirls finger unenthusiastically* whoo hoo. Don't you guys think it might be awkward to meet each other? I mean, considering different ages and such. I have no friends who even know what the EU is, and they won't bother to try reading the books. One of my friends is a Star Wars fan. ONE!!! and they make fun of it all the time. So I'm all by my lonesome. Crying or Very sad

It might kind of awkward at first. I can see it now......

Sword: "Hey."
Reepicheep: "Hey."
Autobon: "S'up?"
Mara: "Not much."
OMB: "I like SW."
Padmé: "Me, too."
Caedus: "Me, three."
Joe: "Creating Darth Elmo was fun."
Sword: "I like Jaina."
Everybody: "We know."

And so it would go. Laughing

Well yes, it would be weird. Since most of us have never met any of the others. But it would be fun. Awkward, but fun. We would probably stand around and be like, "Um, well...I mean...huh." Just cause we can chat it up on the forums doesn't mean we'd accomplish any communication face to face. Smile

I'm guessing we have from 14 to 30 year olds on here...so, just don't see how it could work. But like Mara, said, it would be fun. Smile
