Honestly, that's how it would be. We already know everything about everybody that we're going to actually share. So there wouldn't be much to tell. And we'd be calling each other by our usernames, too. "Hey, Sword!" "S'up, Mara?" "Yo, Autobon!" "SoS, how's it going?" Laughing

LOL!!!! yeah... it could get very awkward very fast.

Glad I could provide some amusement. Another comment I could see is "You look nothing like your avatar." Very Happy

So, yeah, it would be awkward, but I'm sure we'd get over it, stop calling each other by our usernames, and have fun. Smile

YES! For some reason I always picture eveyone on here as their avatar. It's so wierd. But I can promise you there is no way in hell that I look like Jaina Solo. I wish.

Laughing Nice, Mara. I'm guessing that Autobon's not a Jawa, either. Smile

The one I'd get is, "Padmé! You're blonde!" Very Happy

I mean, considering different ages and such. I have no friends who even know what the EU is, and they won't bother to try reading the books. One of my friends is a Star Wars fan. ONE!!! and they make fun of it all the time. So I'm all by my lonesome.

I don't think the ages would be an issue. I know we have people on here over 40, and people under 15, but I don't see it being that bad, as long as you have one person there who is REALLY good with conversation. They could make everyone feel comfortable. What you have to do is act normal. I know the Star Wars bloggers did a dinner at Celebration IV, and though I don't know how conversation went, it seems like they had a ton of fun, from videos. The only bad parts were when they tried to do things that they would do on the blogs, like have The Stooge get up and tell jokes. Those are great for blogs, but it was not as good in person. We would just have to be ourselves.

Quote:
Sword: "Hey."
Reepicheep: "Hey."
Autobon: "S'up?"
Mara: "Not much."
OMB: "I like SW.
"

HA! I would be the one to start a conversation with the obvious.

No, he is. It's a common misconception that people don't like their avatars. Autobon, for example, really is a Jawa. I, however, am not an 80 year old British dude. See, I just used the word dude. Proof that I'm not old or British.

As the "creator" of this site, there is nothing I would love more than a meetup, and SoS would love it even more. It's so frustrating that we all live so far away. I mean, CV is east coast for sure, so Autobon and Kal wouldn't even make that. But CV would be the best bet, I see at least 3 of us going. Razz Unless I paid to fly everyone to Flordia, I don't think we will ever all meet. Sad

*makes mental note* Autobon really is a Jawa. Got it. Very Happy

And maybe we could all raise the money so we could meet one day.....I can dream, can't I? Smile

Indeed, it should be changed to Darth Elmo. I'll go change it now.... I was just picking random people to say stuff. Wink

I have access to a Ventrilo server if anyone was interested in voice chat. Not sure how many of you have microphones/headsets for you computers though.

If there was any interest in that I could post the info...

Skype could also be used for voice chat.

I subconsciously do that too, so don't ruin it for me. As far as I'm concerned, there are some very hot women on here!!

Sword, I've been to wisconsin a couple of times and all I can remember is.....COLD. Like minus 30 cold and minus 60 something with the wind chill. Yikes.

I don't think the age difference would be a big deal though as long as there is a common ground for decent conversation. I'm 38, but just kind of a big kid(so my wife says) and my teenage relatives and I chat things up pretty well.
