Okay, one of my favorites is Chapter 12 of Fury, where Jag talks some sense into Jaina, and she listens, and then he goes on to talk to Zekk about how he used to see his future in her eyes, and even though they weren't together anymore, he still didn't want her to lose what it is to be human. And then it turns out Leia was in the shadows the whole time listening! Smile I looove it.

Darth Vader destroying Prince Xizor's space station. That was epic.

Mara's defeat of Yomin Carr in Vector Prime, and the following paragraphs:

He froze in place, staring hard at Mara. "You are worthy, " he said once more, and then he just stared at her, and it seemed again as if he somehow knew her. "Jedi, " he whispered.
That flicker of recognition went away, all light in Yomin Carr's eyes faded, and he lay very still.

I don't know why, but that scene was seared into my mind the moment I read it, and I've never forgotten it. To me, it's just...beautiful.

Anakin's death.

Luke/Jacen's fight aboard the Anakin Solo.

Mereel(I think) exposing that Ordo had NOT destroyed the info(I had bought it hook line and sinker that he did).

Bane&Zanna vs. Jedi in Rule of Two

The expanded version of Palpy revealing himself to Anakin in the ROTS novel.

Luke, just recovered from the brain bleed(or whatever it was) piloting the Falcon in a way that awed Han in TCOPL.

Luke and Mara in the Tunnels when she berates him for his omnipotent behavior in VOTF.

Jacen leaving his parents, luke and mara on that space station in Exile after they came to save him(OUCH).

The fight scene with the mandos vs. Jacen followed by Jaina/Jacen.

Well, I wasn't judging favorite as in "it was a good thing". No, it sucked that Anakin died, yet it was an extremely emotional moment. It is one of the things that makes SBS my favorite EU book thus far.

I thought Luke and Jacen's fight was awesome. One the one hand it was not cool at all to have two of my favorites killing each other. On the other hand, it was inevitable at that point.

Speaking of Luke vs. Jacen. The scene where he held him down in his seat, and crushed the seat, without any sign of physical strain, was awesome too.

My favorite moments are not necessarily good things, but powerful scenes that stand out to me.

I agree, kurtdc, it's the same with most character deaths. If they can make us feel that emotional, obviously they're doing their job.

Even though I hated seeing it happen, I re-read the last Caedus/Jaina fight at least twenty times. And I listened to it on CD another bunch of times.

The brutality and just plain awefulness of it compelled me to read it over and over.

I made the mistake of having my wife read this one as her FIRST step into EU- everyone else I hooked with SBS- she cried so hard- hard nightmares for a month- and vows to never read another of my "sad ass books" She related to Mara and Jacen so the series wasn't going well for her- I spoil the hell out of her- she's my little Holocron that I tell things too.

Boy did I blow it!

Any of the Lady EUers have suggestions for books that would bring her back- she loves the romance novels.???

Well I am not a lady, but the first book I got my wife to read was the Thrawn Trilogy - which she enjoyed. She also read LotF - but I had to explain alot. Wink

For the timeline she knows quite a bit about the characters. Like I said I spoiled her on every book i read. Thrawn- good idea- I was thinking Allegiance cause of her being a Mara fan.
