From a person who has only seen the movies standpoint, I might say yes, just because if you're looking for a strong female figure its either Leia or Padme.

Interesting- see it feels those are the only action figure options too. I'm glad that the female Jedi see bigger roles at least in the show.

I think there are things Padme could be doing on the side that would be interesting. I have sometimes see her like Lana from Smallville- all gathering as much info as she can to protect her man.

I could see her doing what she felt was needed to end conflicts sooner. Like Leia helps the refugees during the Vong Invasion.

Well, that's sort of what she did in the deleted scenes in RotS. While I understood that the movie could only be so long, I was annoyed those scenes were cut. It was pretty much Padmé's whole plot, and it took something away from her character in that movie when they went. Not that I didn't still love her. Smile What I loved most about the deleted rebellion plot was that it showed that Padmé certainly wasn't afraid to confront Palpatine or disagree with Anakin about the path the Republic was taking.

And as far as her reaction to Anakin's fall, I most definitely understand why she "fell apart". Her whole life was spent in the service of others. Marrying Anakin was the really the only thing she ever really did for her. What really get me is Obi-Wan's timing on Mustafar. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if he'd given Padmé a few more minutes to reason with Anakin. *shrugs*

Yeah I wished those scenes stayed too. BUt yes along those lines- IMOP it would be cool that she played a bigger role in the senators reasoning to rebel. Because your right, she did have a big spine to defy Palaptine like that. She has the drive to stand up for what she feels is right.
