Who isn't?! I, myself is longing for a life like his. Heck! I'd give everything just to be on Tatooine and to drive a landspeeder, that is just the boring parts of his life. What about being a Jedi? He must be glad he met someone like Obi-Wan!

You seem to have adopted a strange dislike to the Skywalker twins... Confused

Yeah, lol, I guess so. And as for JediJoe

That was the whole point. Luke was dead-set on adventure and heroics, and destroying the Death Star only strengthened his ego. He didn't realize what it really meant to become a Jedi. Just as Yoda said "Adventure, heh... Excitement, heh... A Jedi craves not these things!"

You're right, it was the point, but still, I don't like him! It's exactly that character trait I don't like!

But he eventually evolved past that. He started out as an adventure-hungry farmboy in ANH, went through tough challenges and emotional conflict, and became a wise Jedi Knight in the end of RotJ. He was supposed to start out as immature, that's good storytelling.

Wow JediJoe. You're right, and I see things from your point of view. But for the sake of this topic and my opinion (no offense to you JediJoe, I do agree) I don't like Luke Skywalker, and while I'm rolling neither do l like Leia!
I just don't favor them. I hope everyone is okay with that. I guess it's just how I am.
But I do loooovveeeee R2!

I got to admit that the two of them wasn't really something special in the movies (not to be hated none the less!) but the EU shaped them into really good characters! Smile
Han will always stay awesome! Cool

I'm not trying to change your opinion, I'm just saying that he was supposed to be whiny. It's like saying James Cameron's Titanic was bad because the ship sank at the end. Laughing Wink

Perhaps so, but he still is. Not so much in RotJ, oddly. I actually prefer him in ANH and ESB, which is the time you really seem to dislike him. *shrug*

Horses for courses I guess.
