The relationship aspect was handled rather well between Anakin and Padme, but everything else blew. Basically this episode wants us to believe that the GFFA is populated by a bunch of idiotic five year olds, or that only stupid five year olds watch the show and won't pick up all the stupid mistakes.

From a technical standpoint this was probably the worst episode they have done, the animation was so rigid. There were a few moments when the characters were walking and they were barely moving, they walked like they had peg legs. Then there was Padme, not only did she look like she was a doll with sections, you know like the old plastic he-man dolls where the top half is a different section than the bottom, but why in the hell did she have a distended stomach?

If there's good romance and political intrigue, I'm very biased, so I wasn't paying attention to animation. And I never really have. It all looks awesome to me. The plot was extremely dumb, yes, but oh well.

Just caught the rerun. Wow. While the plot wasn't that bad, I couldn't enjoy any of the episode because Padmè's voice annoyed the heck out of me! Honestly, she sounded like a whiny valley girl. It just wasn't working for me. And the animation could have been better. Confused

I though the same on the animation- my wife say Padme with the headress at the start and was all "NO!" Laughing

I did find Anakin having to wonder what was going on funny though.

Yeah, the animation was decent until that dinner dress she wore. *shudders* It just didn't look right.
Anakin being in the dark amused me, but I was more preoccupied with that helmet he was wearing. Just looked weird. Confused

The romance wasn't that bad. Padmè's whining about Anakin not paying attention to her was. What, is she fifteen now? No offense to any fifteen year olds out there. I'm sure you act more mature that she did.

*sigh* When I start bashing Padmè, it's a sure sign that SW has entered a dark, sad place. Wink

And, HELLO! AotC is the greatest most epic romance of our generation! Laughing

Yeah, that was uncharacteristic of Padme. And I have some major issues with AOTC. I guess the problem is that while the story was okay, the acting was not good. My other problem is, I am just way too much of an optimist most of the time. Smile

Padme's voice got on my nerves too. It sounds nothing like Portman. Most of the other voice-actors are at least close, but I felt this one was way off.

I always found Padme attractive, but the way she preens over anakin- isn't how I envisioned her. But GL must have decided getting Married changed who she was as a person?

Exactly! It's bothered me since the beginning. Couldn't the actress at least try to use some of Portman's inflections? Confused

I actually didn't mind this episode. Sure Padm'e was whiny, but I loved how they handled Anakin. It was easy to be sympathetic with him, and the part on the ship made me laugh (I'm sure the same doesn't go for most of you).
