So what bothers you worse: spiders or snakes? Does the snake pit scene in Indiana Jones give you the chills? Have you never even dared to watch Arachnophobia and all it's eight legged goodness?

My dad has arachnophobia, and as a kid, I liked to freak him out. One time I killed a really big wolf spider and put it in a box and left it out. It certainly had the desired effect when he opened it Twisted Evil

But I'm not that scared of spiders.

Snakes on the other hand...

I hate 'em both, but snakes scare me more. They're quicker!

I hate snakes, Jacque, I hate 'em! Wink I have no love of spiders, either, but I won't scream hysterically if I see one.

Of the two I'd say spiders, but neither really bother me.

Spiders don't bother me. A big wolf spider got in my shoe as a kid. I went to put it on and realized what was in there and freaked out. My mom showed me there was nothing to be afraid by picking it up and handing it to me to look at.

I am ok with snakes so long as they are not poisonous Wink

I have nightmares were the floor or ground is just covered with snakes. If I'm walking in the woods and see one, I'll involuntarily jump back.

Now spider don't so much freak me out, but lately I've had a couple of those black jumping spiders make aggressive jumps toward me. I felt sufficiently justified in squashing them.

Where I am most of the snakes are garden snakes, so I'd have to say spiders. If nothing else because I don't know which ones are dangerous.

Speaking of which, anyone else carry insects outside? I picked it up from my Dad, saving the poor little guys from my Mom. Never grew out of it.

Afraid not. I squash them without mercy.

I'm fine with both. But I'll be honest - frogs/toads destroy me. I will not go anywhere near one. Embarassed

I don't really mind either, though I think I'd prefer snakes to spiders if I was forced to choose. Of course if the spider is big or in some other way looks threatening I kill on sight. Same would apply to snakes I suppose but we don't have big snakes where I live so it hasn't been an issue.

For me it is bees. That always freaks me out without fail. Ironically the bees seem to know this because on several occasions I've found a yellow jacket making his nest on the inside of the hatch that covers where you fill up the gas tank on my car.

This! Although usually, I drown them in the toilet if they aren't crushed to death when I grab with the a tissue.

There are times when I almost kill them, but then I sigh and quote the Grinch, "Bleeding hearts of the world unite!"

I have never been scared of spiders, but I do moderately if not fear then have "healthy respect" (putting a positive spin on it Wink ) towards snakes. I try to avoid killing spiders nowadays, have done so for years. In the past I did kill them.
