Issue #37 is the conclusion of the two part story Prophet Motive. The issue was well done with continued enjoyable interactions between Zayne and Gryph, and even Slyssk. Between inspecting a new ship and dealing with Master Nunk, the trio is quite a hoot. And one mystery that’s been keeping me thinking for some time about a character’s secret is finally revealed. John Jackson Miller continues to do a great job writing this seires.
Bong Dazo also does a good job illustrating these characters and their actions. Zayne does have a brief action sequence, which ends with him holding his blade in a very familiar style that’s started to pop up all over the Star Wars universe currently. All the different aliens are done well, and the ships, buildings, and “…well, you know. The thing” all do a fine job capturing the story.
The beginning of a new era begins with a laugh in this story, and in the words of Gryph, “We’re just getting started.”
